Data Communication
Spring
2003
Course
Description:
This is an advanced topics class aimed at familiarizing students with
the theory and application of advanced receiver processing algorithms.
The focus will be on signaling formats with memory, systems with
time-varying random distortion, and systems with like-signal interference. The topics
to be covered include:
-
Viterbi Algorithm for MLSD
-
Linear and Decision Feedback solutions
-
Forward-backward algorithm standard iterative detection (message passing, belief propagation, turbo-processing, etc.)
-
Adaptive MLSD and adaptive iterative detection
-
Intersymbol Interference (ISI) channels
-
Multiuser detection
-
Turbo Codes and general Code Networks
-
Fading Channels
-
Trellis Codes
-
Multidimensional Systems
