The Ratio Representation Project was undertaken as an initial step toward solving two fundamental problems in Partch scholarship.  The first problem is the need for a visual representation that reveals the heightened relationships of tones.  The excerpt below shows that it is not always possible to follow the contour of melodic lines on Partch's score... contd..>>
